... comparable to the Boltons, what are you even talking about?

It's pretty clear, IMO, that any clout he had derived from his close association to Stannis. With Stannis dead, he's just a smuggler with some fancy titles. He's not a true noble, nor a respected knight, so there's no way he could command anyone to work under him from Stannis' faction. And though a personal guard is not an unreasonable thing to assume, I'd imagine the Night King would have more success summoning them from the Blackwater than Davos...

Drax the Legend, Captain of the Fist, The Starwalker, The Jade Slayer

He got first dibs on the more juciy lands (albeit book source).

Each realm is equivalent to a country, with each lord being equivalent to a county (I appreciate this is British terminology).

With the Mormonts equivalent to a small island, like Isle of Scilly or something, then this is a small group.

Assuming that Davos has even an average sized county, then he should have approx 80,000 in his region (approx equivalent around domesday region in a county, taking Devon as an average).

It's fair to say, he would have at least an approximate personal guard + militia of at least 500 men to call on, equivalent to a regiment.

Given he's a smuggler, he should have the ability to sort out the logistics of getting them to Jon.
