I'm marking spoilers because my speculation is highly probable to include spoilers.
Quote:-The Night King utterly defeats the North, then proceeds south and easily defeats Cersei's forces
No, because there's no dramatic tension with an unbeatable antagonist.
Quote:-North utterly defeats the White Walkers, then their remnants get into a lesser conflict with Cersei. I fear this is one of the likeliest scenarios, but it would cheapen the threat of the Walkers for me
No, for the reason you mentioned. I also fear this will happen, that is, the White Walker threat will peak and then be resolved in 2 episodes (that is episodes 2 and 3).
Quote:-North is defeated, but they manage some sort of retreat, so the final battle is King's Landing or some other place where Cersei has no choice but to join them
This scenario has a decent likelihood of occurring and is not a bad dramatic choice, but it's still not as likely as this option...
Quote:-The North prevails, but the NK is not vanquished and resurfaces below their lines, forcing them to march down as well. Could be interesting, but mostly if da King ends up with an undead Queen army, which I do not think particularly probable...
The North kills off all of the Night King's lieutenants (and so most of the undead army), but the Night King and his dragon escape and go to King's (Queen's?) Landing to kill more people and regenerate his army. If the North is defeated in the prior option, then the Night King's entire army still has to be dealt with, which would involve another massive battle. I don't see two massive army of the dead battles in 6 episodes.
